Display Studio: Scripting buttons are failing, not communicating with the DMP-8000

Potential Symptoms

  • Scripting buttons in Display Studio are failing.
  • Display Studio Status may be green but when you check the status messages, there is no status for the DMP-8000.
  • Display Studio Status may be red with a status message saying "DMP-8000 No Service" or "DMP Not Responding".
  • Can not ping the DMP-8000 computer.
  • Unable to VNC into DMP.
  • KVM unit has no control over DMP.
  • When logging into router and checking connected devices, DMP-8000 does not show up.
  • Monitor may be showing no signal present from DMP-8000.
  • Input Monitor on Processor may show black screen with text coming from DMP-8000.

Cause

  • Communications locked up on the DMP-8000 computer.

Resolution

  • Cycle power to the DMP-8000 by unplugging the power cord from the back of the DMP-8000 for 30 seconds and plugging it back in.
