Steps

  1. Obtain a laptop.
  2. Change the IP address on the laptop to fit the IP address on the display.
  3. Plug an Ethernet cable into the media converter at the comm box and other end into Ethernet adapter on laptop.
  4. Go back to the customers computer and open up command prompt.
  5. Try to ping the IP address that you set on the laptop.
  6. If you are getting a reply on command prompt, communication is good. If you do not get a reply from command prompt, you either have a bad media converter or a bad fiber cable.
