Digit and Price Displays: One or more segments blank, partially blank, or lit all the time, Bad digit or segment
Potential Symptoms
- One or more segments are not lighting, only partially lights up or is dim, or remain lit steadily on a digit.
- Individual horizontal or vertical digit segments are out or blank.
- Swapping the digit with another known working driver output or working digit and the problem moves with the digit and doesn't stay with the drivers particular output.
- Strings of LED's out on the digit, issue follows the digit no matter the output it is connected to on the driver.

Cause
- Component issue in the digit or segment.
- Could include loose connectors on digit/s due to compression on wiring harnesses pinched between door and digit.
- Could include dirt and debris in the harness or digit connector
Resolution
- Replace digit or segment that has a hardware failure.
Did you Know?
- LED displays have a current expected lifetime of 100,000 hours (about 10 years) after which they will be half as bright as when the display shipped. This is not a failure of the display but rather the natural properties of an LED.
- Replacement of multiple digits or segments within the same display may be desired, as the brightness level of one or two replacement digits may give the display an uneven look resulting in the following issue - A replacement digit panel it is brighter than the other digit panels; Natural LED degradation .
