OmniSport 2000 will not communicate with scoreboard.

Potential Symptoms

  • OmniSport 2000 will not communicate with scoreboard.
  • Swimming display may be lighting up with random characters.
  • Scoreboard may light when using an All Sport 5000 in all-on test mode.

Environment

  • OmniSport 2000 (possibly a new, replacement, or borrowed console)
  • SW-2XXX and newer fixed-digit scoreboard (P0 will display on start up without signal)
  • SW older fixed-digit scoreboard (P1 will display on start up without signal)
  • Omega Scoreboard

Cause

  • OmniSport has the wrong selected scoreboard output in the settings.

Resolution

  1. Press [MENU] > 4 > 4 > 1 on the OmniSport console.
  2. Per the Board on-site, use the arrow (left/right) keys to select the appropriate output type:
    • For SW-2XXX scoreboards, select MultiDrop.
    • For older SW scoreboards, select MultiLine.
    • For Omega scoreboards, select Omega.
  3. Once selected press [Enter], then test.

    • The decision has been made to sunset the OmniSport timing System. 
    • No new orders are planned, existing systems have up to a 7-year service plan.
