    • Created message being previewed or how it would show out on the display:

Environment

  • Venus 1500 4.19.1
  • Content Studio

Cause

When there is a line of text with little to no room, and you hit [Enter] it actually breaks the line twice, rather than once in the coding. When you preview the presentation, or when you publish it out to the display, it only shows one line, rather than two or more.

Resolution

This issue only affects presentations saved with FreeType 1.0 font engine and will most likely affect any presentations created and saved in Venus 1500 v4.8 and lower.
This issue does not affect presentations saved with WordType 2.0 font engine and will not affect any presentations created and saved in Venus 1500 v4.9 and greater.
How to check the font engine type the presentation was saved in:
  1. Launch Venus 1500 v4.
  2. Click the Content Tab, select the presentation with issue and click Edit.
  3. While open in Content Studio, click the Orange V Application Menu, choose Content Studio Options.
  4. Click on Presentation Properties and view what Text Rendering engine is used.
    • Issue will be present when version 1.0.

    • Issue will not be present when version is 2.0.

Work Around

If updating Venus 1500 v4 to the latest is not possible and you do not want to Copy each layout to a new presentation, you can do one of the following:

  • Delete the space between the two words causing the spacing issue and use the [Space Bar] key rather then [Enter] to go to a new line
  • Or use individual text boxes for each row or line of text.
