AF-3500/AF-3550 display communication lost after setting IP address

Potential Symptoms

  • Communications lost after changing IP settings on the controller via M2Config, even though IP on boot up matches the changed IP.

Environment

  • AF-3500, AF-3550 Displays
  • M3 Controller
  • Galaxy

Cause

  • Subnet was improperly assigned

Resolution

  1. Access the controller within the display.
  2. Power down the controller.
  3. Set the Upper rotary dial to (F) and the Lower rotary dial to (E).
  4. Power up the controller and let it go completely through the boot up sequence.
  5. Power down the controller.
  6. Set the Upper rotary dial back to 0 and the Lower rotary dial to 1.
  7. Power up the controller.
  8. Now it should be possible to communicate using the default display IP of 172.16.192.25.
  9. Change the IP address to the wanted values again.
