GP4, "Host name could not be resolved" alert in Venus 1500 v4

Potential Symptoms

  • Display will auto-detect in Venus 1500, however when selecting the display and clicking continue, the software moves to a checking authentication page, and while the bar is going across, you receive the error Host name could not be resolved.
  • Manually creating the display using the DHCP name causes the alert The display's address could not be resolved.

Cause

  • DNS or IP scheme issue.

Resolution

  1. Using a web browser, connect to the Daktronics Remote Display Configuration utility.
  2. Adjust the DNS server, or subnet on the display to match the DNS and subnet used on other machines on the local network.
