Steps

  • Yes, the FLR-500 will work in place of an RC-100.  They are the same product but have different names in their respective markets (FLR-500 used gas price/Fuelight market and RC-100 used in the sport/scoreboard market).
  • The function of the handheld is controlled by the radio base station it connection to.  Inside the radio base station is a function dial.
    • Functions 2 & 5 are used for Sports
      • Function 2 for Gen I handhelds
      • Function 5 for Gen II handhelds
    • Function 3 is used typically for gas price applications
  • Note (applying only to sport applications):  If using a Gen II handheld (on boot up of device firmware version will show v2.2 or higher), then function 5 should be typically used on the base station.  Although Gen II handhelds should also work even if the base station is set to function 2.
    • If the radio base station is a Gen I base station (will be labeled with ED14906 v2.1 or lower).  The base station will need to be left at function 2 (i.e. the base station will NOT work if set to function 5)
