Presentations created with the Smooth Text feature in Venus 1500 v4.18 does not smooth properly and looks pixelated out on the physical display

Potential Symptoms

  • Presentations created with the Smooth Text feature in Venus 1500 v4.18 does not smooth properly and looks pixelated out on the physical display.

  • Text appears correct on the computer in Content Studio, but appears garbled on the display.

  • The issue does not reflect within the Venus 1500 v4 Software or Content Studio.

  • Presentations created in 4.17 or earlier look fine out on the display.

    • Presentation creating in 4.18:
      • Text looks pixelated and blocky.

Environment

  • Venus 1500 v4.17 updated to 4.18.1

  • Content Studio

Cause

  • There is an issue with relaying the Smoothing Text Feature to the display controller.

Resolution

  • Update to v4.19.1 or greater.

Work Around

  • Use Venus fonts or do not apply smoothing text feature.
