Galaxy no communication through EBRs, good ETH link to server, No ETH link at client

Potential Symptoms

  • Unable to communicate to the display.
  • Unable to ping the display IP address if connected directly to POE of radios with laptop IP set to communicate on same subnet as display.
  • Diagnostic LED in server radio show it has power, a valid Ethernet connection has been established to the laptop, and all 6 signal quality LEDs are lit solid.
  • Diagnostic LEDs in client radio show it has power but the ETH LED is not lit indicating there is no Ethernet connection between the radio and the controller in the display .
  • If directly connect to Ethernet port on controller a good Ethernet connection is present, able to ping the IP address of the display or able to connect in M2config (or Venus).

Cause

  •  Poor Cat 5 cable/connection at QC or the controller.
    • Cable may be pinched, corroded, cut, missing, or otherwise compromised.

Resolution

  • Reseat cable at QC card and at controller.
    • If issue persists or returns, replace cable.
