DMP-7000: Replacement DMP resolution not correct in monitor

Potential Symptoms

  •  Received Venus 7000 computer from repair center and couldn't match the monitor 1920 by 1080 resolution.
  •  The desktop/ graphics are oversized.  Remote desktop looked correct.

Environment

  • Product: DMP-7000 / Venus 7000,
  • Components: Nvidia and ASUS graphic cards, ViewSonic VA2231wm-LED Monitor, ATI HD 4400/4500
  • Control System:

Cause

  •  Windows Display manager saw the driver refresh rate at 30 Hz
  • ATI Radeon HD4400 HD 4500 will not go to full 1920 by 1080 (1920X1080)

Resolution

  1. Download catalyst control center.
  2. Select wrong resolution and then the correct 1920 by 1080 resolution as well as a fresh rate of 60 - 75 Hz.   
  3. Reboot machine to verify the catalyst was in control and the settings remained.
