RC-100 showing "Waiting for External Control" or "Initializing Radio", wrong function
Potential Symptoms
- RC-100 shows "Waiting for External Control" or "Initializing radio" when attempting to connect to the RC-100 Base Station, but does not change.
- When used for Tennis scoreboard, RC-100 is not prompting for a Court number. Tries connecting on channel "X", but next prompt is Press ENT to retry/clear to set channel.

Cause
Function dial set wrong internally in base station.
Resolution
- Power on the RC-100 handheld device and check what firmware revision it is. Before or after V2.2 will dictate the function dial setting within the RC-100 Base Station.
- RC-100 handhelds with firmware V2.2 or higher, or with a manufacturer date of August 2006 or greater, the base station function dial needs to be set to Function 5.
- RC-100 handhelds with firmware V1.6 or lower the base station function dial needs to be set to Function 2.
- Change the RC-100 Base Station function dial to the correct setting as determined in step 1.
