Pace Clock Constantly Showing ERR

Potential Symptoms

  •  Pace clock is constantly flashing Err on display when started or triggered.

Environment

  • Pace Clock
  • Combination of equipment below, depending on set up:
    • R-Top
    • Touchpad
    • Horn Start
    • Push Button Start       
    • OmniSport 2000

Cause

  • One or more of the inputs to the pace clock have been installed with reversed polarity/upside down.
  • The wrong program has been selected.

Resolution

  1. Ensure the banana plugs going from the equipment into the pace clock have the ground tab facing down or towards the black plug.                                                                                                                                              
  2. Per ED13737 (Pace Clock Manual) ensure that per the equipment being used the right program has been selected.
  3. If the wrong program has been selected or doesn't match the proper equipment being used, follow the instructions below to change the program.
  4. Press and hold <RESET> for 2 seconds. The display will show PR## (program number) and then the preset time.
  5. While holding <RESET>, press and release <HORN> to increment the program number by one.
    1. Program numbers are as follows:
      1. Breakout Timer.
      2. Start Reaction Timer w/ Omega Relay Take-Off Platform.
      3. Backstroke Start Reaction Timer.
      4. Relay Exchange Timer w/ Omega Relay Take- Off Platform.
      5. Pace Clock.
      6. Game Clock.
      7. Shot Clock.
      8. 12-hour Time of Day.
      9. 24-hour Time of Day.
      10. Start Reaction Timer w/ Daktronics Relay Take- Off Platform.
      11. Relay Exchange Timer w/ Daktronics Relay Take-Off Platform.
