  3. Note the Venus Value, for that will be needed in later steps found below.  By selecting a value, RTD will become color RTD and assume the selected color value.
    color rtd4.jpg
  4. Select the color you want DSTI to output
NOTE: This color is NOT going to be the final product! The color is just selected to differentiate between different types of RTD coming out of DSTI. Other RTD's inputs may have separate colors. These are to be noted as each different RTD color needs to be separately entered in the Venus 7000 Computer's registry.
  5. Click OK, and then OK again and restart DSTI Software.
  6. At the Venus 7000 computer, open the Registry Editor by clicking START, RUN and typing in REGEDIT.
  7. Once again, please reference the following and backup Windows' Registry

  8. Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Daktronics\Venus7000\V6.0\Signs
Note: A new subkey will be needed to change the color Venus is getting from DSTI to the desired color.
  9. Right click on the key for the desired sign and select New -> Key
*NOTE* You're making this key inside a specific sign folder, and will have to repeat this for each sign you want to use Color RTD
    color 20rtd5.jpg
  10. Name the new key "RTDColors"
  11. Within the RTDColors folder, right click and select New -> String Value.  This will create a new value named New Value #1.
    color 20rtd6.jpg
  12. Right Click on New Value #1, select Rename.
  13. Rename the String Value to the exact Value DSTI is Outputting.  The entered value should be that noted in Step 3 above.
For example: If DSTI is outputting R3G1B0, then you will enter "R3G1B0"
  14. Hit Enter to save the new name.
  15. Right click the same value and select Modify to bring up the window where it is possible to enter the ACTUAL values for the color that is to appear for Color RTD.
    color 20rtd7.jpg
  16. When the Edit String option appears, enter the actual color value.
    color rtd8.jpg
For example, if the color wanted to output is R=3, G=1, B=0, enter "3,1,0"
    color rtd9.jpg
  17. Click OK to save the String.
  18. Repeat the steps for the Venus 7000 Computer listed above for any other signs that will be outputting RTD to ensure all have the modified color value.
  19. Exit the Registry Editor and restart the Venus 7000 computer.
