Ethernet Bridge Radios; When publishing content to display it will lockup the software upon trying to send message files

Potential Symptoms

  • When publishing content to display it will lockup the software upon trying to send message files.
  • EBR Diagnostics show the connection between the client radio and display as unknown:

  • EBR Diagnostics show the client radio has no signal strength and does not provide you the option to look at it's stats or spectrograph.
  • IP finder utility does not find client radio.
  • Cannot publish content to display but can get status and pull up controller configuration.
  • Cycling power to display will sometimes restore communication
  • If display is GP3 broadband test will not work.

Environment

  • M3, M4
  • Venus 1500 (4)
  • Ethernet, Radio

Cause

  • Network that radios are going to is blocking traffic on some or all of ports 4500-4525.

Resolution

  • Ensure network has ports 4500-4525 open.

Work Around

  • Bypass network and connect directly to DC injector.
