Time on the Galaxy display (M2) is ahead or behind actual time
Potential Symptoms
- Time on the display is either a few minutes ahead or behind.
- Time is off and will be correct after connecting but after a few days is off again.
Environment

- Component: M2 controller based product ONLY, M2Config Utility Software
- Control System:
Cause
- The clock source on the controller may have become faulty, or become less accurate with time.
Resolution
- Open M2Config (Warning: Misuse of this utility can render your display inoperable).
- a. Install M2Config: How to download & install the M2Config Utility on your computer?, DD2059662.
- b. Connect to the display using M2Config: How to connect to my Galaxy display using the M2Config Utility?, DD2342173.
- After M2Config is connected to the display, under Display click Clock.
- Change the Clock source to one of the following:
- If Automatic -> Change to Onboard RTC.
- If Onboard RTC -> Change to 60Hz.
- If 60hz -> May need to replace the controller. Clock chip may be faulty.
- Send the new configuration settings to the display by clicking the blue Upload arrow or
- Go to File.
- Select Set Configuration.
- M2Config will let you know that the configuration was sent successfully and the display will reboot.
- Sync the time to the display using:
Venus 1500 v3.
- Launch Venus 1500 v3.
- Open Display Manager.
- Click on the Diagnostics Control (2 gears).
- Click Set Time/Date.
- Click Get Status.
- Confirm the time updates in the lower right of display manager.
Venus 1500 v4
- Launch Venus 1500 v4.
- Click Display Tools. (The little white arrow to the right of display drop down list.)
- Click Set Time/Date.
- Confirm the time updates in the Home Tab under display status.
NOTE: If you do not Publish to Display or Set Time/Date, the time can slowly fall behind or get ahead of time by a few minutes.
