Intermittent or Persistent Loss of Sync (ProLink5, Portx)
Environment
- Product Family: Any display using PL5x modules with SATA cables
- Products: DB-4000, DB-4100, DB-4200, DB-5000, DB-6000, DB-6400, DXB-0100, BLD-0100
- Component: PL5x module, SATA cable
- Control System: IDM
Resolution
- If SATA cable is damaged, replace the cable as per Diagnostic Alert: Loss of Sync and/or Checksum Error on a module or PLR; Failed SATA cable .
- If the jacks on the module are damaged, replace the module as per Diagnostic Alert: Loss of Sync event on module
- If SATA cable is disconnected or improperly latched, reconnect the cable as per Blank, intermittent blanking/flickering of modules or section; Loose SATA Cable .
If the event does not clear in IDM, perform a self-test on the module to determine the problem. Refer to Display Modules: How do I perform self test on a PL5X series module? for instruction on how to perform a module self-test.
👉The SATA cables do not need to be run from port B on one module to port A on the next module. Cables can go from A to A and B to B, if it is easier.
