900xTR radio are experiencing communication lockups while the 900x model is working fine

Potential Symptoms

  • No communication - 900xTR radio set is locking up, and they have to power cycle server radio to get communication back while 900x model is having no issues.
  • Radio block error rate would intermittently spike up.
  • Highest spike seen for block error rate 3/6 bars or 45%.

Environment

  • Galaxy or GalaxyPro
  • Ethernet, Radio - 900xTR and 900x
  • RSSI is between -70 to -30
  • Radio Firmware is revision 81

Cause

  • Suspect 900x model radios are interfering with 900xTR model.
    • May be causing security issues with xTR causing lock up issue.

Resolution

Step 1: Find suitable channels that will separate the 2 radios on the spectrum.
  • Set the dip switches on the 900x Radios.
  • Set the channel on the 900xTR using the web diagnostics.
  • Verify the radios spectrum is clear of other interference, and that the radios are separated on the spectrum to their assigned channels.
