Getting nucleus error when launching Venus 1500, Nucleus service disabled

Potential Symptoms

  • Getting Nucleus error when opening software.
  • Nucleus service is not started.
  • Option to start Nucleus service is grayed out.
  • The service's "Startup Type" says disabled instead of Automatic.
  • Receiving error "Nucleus service not running. Please try restarting this machine or running as administrator" when opening Venus.
  • Fusion service also disabled, "Startup Type" says disabled instead of Automatic.

Cause

  • Daktronics Nucleus service was set to disabled in Services.msc.

Resolution

  1. Click on the Start or Windows button in the lower left hand corner.
  2. Click Run and type in services.msc.
  3. Right click on Daktronics Nucleus and select Properties.
  4. Click on the General tab.
  5. Under startup type, select Automatic and click OK.
  6. Start the Daktronics Nucleus service.
  7. Repeat above steps for Fusion services.
  8. Open the software normally.
