RC-100 has limited or low range; Antenna cable connection issue to base station

Potential Symptoms

  • RC-100 handheld has limited or low range.
  • RC-100 is only able to connect within approximately 50 feet of the base station.
  • Scoreboard is skipping or freezing in time digits.

Environment

Cause

  • Internal gold coaxial plug for antenna not fully seated or antenna wire is broken on base station's radio card.

Resolution

  1. Check the antenna lead-to-circuit board connection (a tiny gold coaxial plug/jack) to be certain it is securely seated.
  2. Push in very firmly on the gold plug.
  3. When doing so, verify if it moves ever so slightly and can feel a slight "click".
  4. If unable to reconnect the antenna cable, replace base station.
