Discolored row of modules, rows of LEDs on display; Loose ribbon cable

Potential Symptoms

  • Discolored module or series / string / row / line of modules on display.
  • Module(s) may be flickering, distorted, discolored, frozen, delayed but issue may be intermittent or non-visual.
  • Colored line or strip of LEDs on module and all modules that follow.
    • One or more rows of LEDs blank or lit solid across a series of modules.
  • Module row may be blank or partially blank.
    • In cases where the display is only a single row of modules, the display may be partially or fully blank.
  • Communication Failure alert or Checksum error event in diagnostics.
  • One or more rows of module's have shifted content.

Cause

  • Loose ribbon cable connection/s to the module from its previous signal source.

Resolution

  • Reseat connections to the module.
    • Note: Use dielectric grease if needed to assure good connection and prevent corrosion.
