A Capture File in Camino 8 is a compressed (.zip) file that gathers system information, logs, and configuration details. These files are used by the development team to troubleshoot customer issues.
There are several ways to launch the Capture Tool:
Option 1: From the Help Menu

- Open Camino 8 and navigate to the Help menu to launch the Capture Tool.
Option 2: Automatically After a Crash

- If Camino crashes, the Capture Tool will automatically open, allowing you to collect diagnostic information for the issue.
Option 3: Standalone Launch

- The Capture Tool can also be launched separately from Camino.
- Camino Diagnostic Capture is installed in this location: C:\Program Files\Daktronics\Camino\Camino.Support.exe .
- Users can also find it by clicking start and typing Camino Diagnostic Capture.

- Once launched (Options 1–3), the Capture Tool window will appear.
Step 1: Enter User Feedback
- Use the first text box to provide a description of the issue. This information helps the development team better understand the problem.
Step 2: Select a Capture Preset
Choose a Capture Preset from the dropdown menu.
- Presets determine what information is included in the capture.
- More detailed presets collect additional data but result in larger file sizes.
- An estimated file size is displayed to help guide your selection.
Step 3: Review or Customize Details (Optional)
Expand the Details section to:
- View exactly what data will be collected
- Adjust or fine-tune the capture contents
Step 4: Create the Capture File
- Click Create Capture to generate the file.
- The system will begin collecting the selected data.
Step 5: Access the Capture File
Once complete:
- A link will be provided in the tool
- Click the link to open the file location in Windows Explorer
Additional Notes
- Capture files are saved as .zip files.
- Larger captures may take longer to generate.
- Include as much relevant detail as possible in the feedback field to assist troubleshooting.
