What Is Preamp Gain?

Preamp gain boosts low‑level microphone signals so they reach a usable level before mixing.

Adjusting Preamp Gain

  1. Tap the Home tab on the touchscreen.
  2. Tap PREAMP GAIN ADJUST for:
    • ANNOUNCER IN
    • MIC/LINE IN 1
    • MIC/LINE IN 2
  3. Turn the ADJUST knob to set the gain level.

Best Practices

  • Aim for meters that fill about ¾ of the meter
  • Avoid clipping (red indicators)
  • Set gain first, then adjust mix levels

🔎 Remember: Good input = good output. Poor gain structure cannot be fixed later in the mix.
