Camino: How to edit ratios for bar charts

Steps

  • Bar charts typically use a clip plane or clip rectangle to reveal the bar thus giving the illusion of the bar filling in to illustrate the value in which the chart represents. The ratio refers to the scale applied to the chart to determine how complete the chart is. In the example below the rushing and passing yards ratio on the left is set at 0-550 where 0 yards equals no color bar and 550 yards equals a full colored bar. The same graphic on the right has the rushing and passing yards set to 0-400 giving more color on each teams chart. The total yards in both graphics is set at a ratio of 0-700.

     5. Repeat for the other team to ensure a ratios are consistent to ensure bars aren't skewed for home and guest teams.

Suggested Ratios

Ratio settings may vary between graphics/sites due to the desired graphic look and what may be considered average for the specific team. It's recommended to keep the ratio consistent between home and guest so as not to skew the bar chart.
