VFC; Stuck on Blank.1 by Power Recovery following Firmware Update

Cause

Resolution

  1. Create a System Backup following How to save and load a system backup file for a VFC.
  2. Delete the DMP's storage following How do I delete content stored on a DMP-5050 or DMP-8050?.
    1. NOTE: This will remove any messages stored on the controller.
    2. Sometimes, storage may need to be deleted twice.
  3. Once memory has been deleted, attempt to blank the display from Local.
  4. If issue persists, or if messages remain on the controller after deleting the DMP's memory, factory reset the controller following How to set the VFC back to factory default settings.
  5. Load the System Backup.
  6. Verify messages are able to be changed/blanked by both Local and Central.
