Show Control: How do I log in with my non admin account and sync with Display Studio server

When logging into Show Control with different accounts, it is necessary to change the sharing options for different network profiles.  

This article describes how to log onto a Show Control system with an account other than the admin account and still allow the Display Studio software to still be able to sync with the server Show Control system.

Steps

Disable password protection for sharing on the network.

  1. Within Control Panel's navigate to Network and Sharing Center.
  2. Select Change Advanced Sharing Settings on the left navigation bar.
  3. Expand the All Networks section.
  4. At the bottom, select Turn off password protected sharing.

This setting may not be available in all versions of Windows and/or if domain policy prevents. 

The Sharing tab when viewing the shared folder's properties will show the current state of this setting.
