Topic

  • How do I edit templated files from Daktronics Creative Services?

Environment

  • Adobe After Effects
  • Custom Game Threads head shots and match up templates.
  • BU Game Threads 2023

Daktronics Creative Services uses the latest Adobe Creative Cloud tools for all projects.  If purchasing templated files, you must own/ purchase this software and understand how to use it to update the files accordingly.  Training resources are available on Adobe's website if needed.

In this example the folder structure will be for "BU Game Threads 2023"

  1. Under Matchup > Team 2 - Color, expand the dropdown.
  2. Adjust any of the other color values as needed.
 Opponent Text
  1. Under Matchup > expand the Team 2 - Text dropdown.
  2. Add the name of the opponent.
  3. Add the mascot of the opponent.
  4. Add the Location of the team. (University Name)
Fonts can be adjusted as needed.  Use a condensed font for longer team names.  Extended versions of the provided font would look better for shorter names.

Logo
Insert the logo into Game Threads
  1. Open: Game Threads > Matchup > Edit > Logo Source
  2. Insert the opponent's logo.  Be sure to center the graphic. It is advised to leave some space between the logo and the edges.  Around 50 pixels works best.
👉Preview Tip
Open: Game Threads > Matchup > Edit > Team 2 Color
Adjust the timeline's current time indicator to show the logo over the team's name.
This is a good spot to view and adjust the 3d look and colors of the composition together.
