Vanguard Site Configuration

  • How to define the Option for a Vanguard Display using the Site Configuration document.

Steps

When configuring Vanguard Display refer to contract Site Configuration document:

SYSTEM CONFIGURATION:

  • ACCESS- How you access display whether it be front or rear entry, or you can walk into (Walk-In) the display.
  • DISPLAY INTERFACE: Number of VCBs used to create one sign. 
    • Display interface can also be used to set sign to alias to first sign associated to VCB / VCBs
  • MODEL: Display type. VM, VF, VX, DB-5000, DVX, VS6(GS6), VL, VSLS.
    • you can refer to assembly number to confirm model.
    • VS6 is a spinoff of a GS6 display with the NTCIP application installed.
  • MODULE: This is the size, color, pitch, and power type
  • PIXEL HEIGHT: How many pixels high the display is.
  • PIXEL WIDTH:  How many pixels wide the display is.
  • TYPE: Full, Line, or Character matrix is based on the data acquisition or how the data is transmitted and received throughout the display.
  • WIRING LAYOUT: Wiring of the module are in Rows or in Bays.

PERIPHERAL CONFIGURATION:

  • LIGHT SENSOR-Device that detects light to adjust brightness
    • AMBIENT-Total available light
    • FRONT-Light at the front of the display
    • REAR-Light at the rear
    • LINE-The most center light
    • MDLS-Multi directional light sensor typically used with a PLR
  • TEMP SENSOR-Senses Temperature
    • EXTERNAL-Temperature reading of outdoors
    • INTERNAL-Temperature reading of inside of display
    • MODULE-Temperature of module
  • HUMIDITY SENSOR-Senses the percentage of moisture in the air
  • ISOLATION BOARDS-ISO Board attached to power supply to monitor power
  • DC I/O-DC Voltage input and output
  • VCB II RETRO-Specified Interface used to communicate to sign 
  • DOOR SENSOR-Sensor to monitor door (open or closed)
  • AIRFLOW SENSOR-Sensor to monitor airflow in sign
  • RPM SENSOR-Measure revolutions per minute of fans
  • CABINET HEATERS-Warms the cabinet/display
  • DEFOG HEATERS-Reduces fog on display face
  • FACE FANS-Fans responsible for circulating air inwards
  • VENT FANS-Fans responsible for circulating air out
  • BEACONS-Lights located on the outside of display
  • SURGE SUPPRESSOR-Protect electrical equipment from power surges/spikes
  • POWER SYSTEM- Version of power
    • GEN IV (DEFAULT)-Default power system
    • PSRB-Power supply redundancy board
    • ELTEK-Remote power DC system
