DWP: How do I perform a hardware/factory reset on the LG Display?

Topic

  • Needing to do a hardware reset in preparation for conversion to VCS control.
  • After initially working as expected, DWP software will not launch.
  • Other errors (offline, on-screen errors)

Environment

  • Product: Software and Controllers 
  • Component: DWP, AWP, LG Display
  • Control System: Venus Control Suite, Adflow DMS

Steps

The factory reset option is a hidden service menu option. 

To access from the remote:

  1. Hold down the Settings ⚙️ button for 7 seconds.  A service menu should be presented 
  2. Enter all 0’s for the password. This will reenable the remote for the duration of the on-screen display being active 
  3. Use the directional ≺ ≻ keys to find the Factory Reset option.  It is usually at the bottom of selectable items.

To reset via Admin menu:

  1. Using the remote, click Settings ⚙️.
  2. Select Admin from the left-side menu.
  3. Select Factory Reset.
