DakLink: General Information

This new software application is a versatile solution to help us manage the game-in-progress data from the Allsport 5000 and relay it to the Daktronics ecosystem. This utility, when configured, will also provide an uplink of Daktronics GIP data (TV Feed) to Genius Sports in their format to their cloud sportscast servers.

Steps

In the future, we may utilize and expand this software to replace DSTI or other solutions, but currently, we are only using it to uplink the GIP data to Genius.
  • There are no changes to the Daktronics Data Software driving the display system. DSTI, Data Studio, or Data Server will still serve as the primary means for clock and stat distribution.
  • DakLink (Allsport Communications Hub) works transparently within the customer's control system. It will listen on port 21000 and then convert/relay the GIP data to Genius (Sportzcast) Cloud.
There is no required changes or modification necessary to this software once set up or the other Daktronics data utilities on our display system.
Daktronics and End-Users can ignore the utility, which will run silently in the system notification tray (bottom right group of icons on the start bar).

The DakLink User Interface:
  • Shows that it is receiving data from the All Sport 5000.
  • Shows the Primary/Backup status if configured for serial input. (Not in use at this time)
  • Shows original Game In Progress (GIP) data and mapped TV Feed and Sportzcast data feeds.
  • Automatically switches sports based on All Sport sport code embedded in Enhanced Real Time Data (ERTD).
  • Runs in the notification tray if minimized or if the user attempts to close. Must close from the notification tray.
