Venus Display Control: How do I enable?

Environment

  • Product: Venus Basic, Venus Select, Venus Professional, Venus Enterprise
  • Components: DMP-8122, DWP, Venus Display Control Apps
    • LCD NOTE: RS-232 LCD Display Control in VCS is only supported on select display models from: LG, Samsung, NEC and ELO purchased from Daktronics.
  • Control System: Venus Cloud-Based

Steps

  1. Log into Venus Control Suite
  2. Open Display Control from the Apps Menu located in the top right of the VCS launchpad page
  3. From the Control Plan landing page, select an existing plan or click Add New or use the search tool to locate an existing plan.  
    1. Choose add new Control Plan. 
    • Advance Control Plan enables a user to define the input type (DisplayPort, HDMI) for each Screen ID configured for the display.  ScreenIDs represent multiple physical displays using only a single VCS display. (Video Walls)

Select Control Plan Properties to:
  1. Click on the properties button for the slide-out.
  2. Change the title.
  3. Change the status.
  4. Edit the desired date range and days of the week for the overall plan.

Click on Add Display to find the configured displays that will need the commands.  

Command Block
The command blocks will show a list of commands that can be executed against the selected displays. 
  1. Click Add block - the Properties menu will slide out from the right
  2. Time Range - Select the Time Range and identify when the range of the commands should be active.  This time range will be visible at the top of the block for reference
  3. Commands - Locate the desired command. Use the key word search to find the command quickly. Here  are examples:
    1. Volume - to locate commands that control the volume levels.
    2. Power- to locate commands that control the power on or off. 
    3. Input - to locate commands for controlling input.
    4. Backlight - to locate commands for controlling backlight levels
  4. Click on the + to add one or multiple commands to the Command Block
  5. Select and drag the commands in the command block to order them as desired
  6. Save Changes
