How to configure the Key Digital® KD-FIX418A HDMI fixer box?

Steps

The HDMI fixer box is used to:
  • improve HDMI signal quality
  • handle signals with HDCP

1. Connect the serial cable (and USB-to-serial adapter) to the port on the HDMI fixer box.

2. Set the EDID rotary dial on the side of the HDMI fixer box to A. Use only light pressure to set the position.

3. Check the HDP (Hot Plug Detect) on the side of the HDMI fixer is OFF.

4. Set the baud rate to 57600 using the serial port program. 

5. Set the debug mode to ON via the serial interface.

   a.  Enter sta at the command line prompt to view the status of the KD-FIX418A fixer box.

  b.  Enter spo dbg on to turn on the debug mode.

   c. Enter sta again to verify that the debug mode is on.
Note: this setting WILL be maintained through a power cycle

3. Set the Compression to OFF.

4. Set the HPD (Hot Plug Detect) to ON.
