How to check for sync loss on the VIP for the fiber ports

Steps

  • Type the IP address of the VIP into a web browser to connect to the controllers ethernet port followed by /daktronics/syscontrol/2.0/status
  • Example: http://10.3.20.33:85/daktronics/syscontrol/2.0/status
  • There are two counters with similar wording. The first is for ethernet timeouts and the second is for fiber. The fiber SyncLossCounter will be at the bottom of the page. Stat 0 is for fiber port A and stat 1 is for fiber port B.

  • See what the values are, then wait 20 seconds and refresh the page and see if the number are counting up. If it goes up then that indicates fiber packets being lost.
  • If it is not changing then the fiber is not dropping connection to the VCB.
