In analog mode, low frequencies or low and mid frequencies are missing, but the system sounds fine in digital mode

Potential Symptoms

  1. With the fiber box set to Digital, the system sounds normal and has a full frequency response
  2. With the fiber box set to Analog, the system only plays high frequency audio or high frequency and mid frequency. The system does not have a full frequency response in analog mode.

Cause

  1. The DSP/Looping button is pressed in on one or more amplifiers. When in the IN (DSP) position, the XLR connector will output a processed signal based on the tuning in the amplifier.  If this is a high frequency amplifier, it will only output high frequency signal on the XLR output.
  2. An analog connection may not be fully seated at the amplifier

Resolution

  1. Set the DSP/Looping button to the OUT (Looping) position to directly couple the XLR output to the XLR input, thereby passing full frequency signal to the next amplifier in line.
  2. Check that all analog XLR connectors are fully seated in the INPUT and OUTPUT jacks of each amplifier
