FL-3000/4500, Gen 3 Serial Radio server and client (FLR3-1500) indicator LED meanings

Environment

  • Product: FL-3000, FL-3100, FL-4500, Galaxy
  • Component: Gen 3 Serial Radio
  • Control System: Gen 3 Serial Radios, FLR3-1500, Venus 1500

Steps

Server Radio:

    • DS1, DS2, DS15, DS16 (Tx and Rx): Flickers when status is updated.
    • DS3(In Range): Lit constantly.
    • DS4, DS5, DS6, DS7: Lit constantly, unless client is detected. When client is detected, lights will shut off, starting with DS4 and increasing with each additional client discovered.
    • DS8, DS9, DS10, DS11: These LEDs indicate which client radio is currently talking to the server radio.
    • DS18 (Run): Flashes every half-second when functioning properly.
    • DS21 (Power): Lit constantly when functioning properly.

Client radio:

    • DS1, DS2, DS15, DS16 (Tx and Rx): Flickers when status is updated.
    • DS3 (In Range): Lit when server radio is in range.
    • DS4 - DS11 (Signal Strength): Lights up in descending order starting with DS11. As signal improves, more LEDs light, up to a perfect signal at DS4. DS11 is always lit.
      • 0 to 4 LEDs lit up: Bad, expect no communication through the radios
      • 5 LEDs lit up: Borderline. Not desirable. Communication through the radios will be hit or miss.
      • 6 to 8 LEDs lit up: Good. This is what we want.
    • DS18 (Run): Flashes every half-second when functioning properly.
    • DS21 (Power) Lit constantly when functioning properly.
