Galaxy, Venus 1500 V4, "This display does not appear to be a Daktronics device" error, IP changed
Potential Symptoms
- Not able to connect to display.
- Running troubleshooting wizard in Venus 1500 V4 results in the following error message: "This display does not appear to be a Daktronics device."
- Display may have been recently power cycled.
Environment
- Product: Galaxy, AF-3400, AF-3500, AF-3550
- Component:
- Control System: Venus 1500 V4
Cause
- The router has assigned an IP address to the DHCP name other than what it was originally set as.
Resolution
- Reconfigure existing display in the Venus 1500 software to use the DHCP name instead of the IP being leased from the router. That way, when the display is power cycled and the IP is reassigned to the DHCP name, the name will still be recognized. How do I find/change the IP address in the Venus 1500 v4 software?, DD2271372.
- NOTE: If the DHCP name is unknown, cycling power should show you the DHCP name in the bootup sequence.
