Section of DVX Display is sparkling / noisy after display is powered up, one mod is dark

Potential Symptoms

  • After power-on of a DVX display with Antios modules, one section appears to be snowy, noisy, or have sparkles in it along with one mod that is dark.
  • Visual issue is confined within a PLR section but may not affect every mod in the PLR section.
  • Both diagnostic indicators are found flashing rapidly on first mod in the PL5 signal path where the sparkling begins.
  • Sparkling area ends along the same PL5 signal path where the dark mod is located.
  • Diagnostic indicators are not lit on the dark mod.

Cause

  • Two part failure:
    1. The dark module has a failed power supply.
    2. The mod with unusual diagnostic indicators is passing bad signal for an unknown reason.

Resolution

These steps should be followed in the order shown to ensure proper resolution of the issue:

  1. Power cycle the mod with the rapid heartbeats. If sparkling persists, or heartbeat remains irregular, replace mod.
  2. Correct the issue with dark mod, by replacing the power supply / mod.
