Display repeatedly goes blank and shows boot sequence, Large piece of content crashing player.

Potential Symptoms

  • Display and VIP monitor window showing BIOS or bootup screen.
  • Display will play through part of playlist and then crash.
  • Likely crashes on same piece(s) of content.
  • Display repeatedly goes blank and shows boot sequence.
  • Venus Control Suite (VCS) Monitoring App doesn't not load recently played thumbnail or only does briefly.

Environment

  • Product: GT6x
  • Component: DMP-5000
  • Control System: Venus Control Suite

Cause

  • Playback of a large piece of content causes player software to crash and restart itself.

Resolution

  • Resize content causing the player to crash to match the display size, or only 2-3x larger than the display size. Likely content's size will be an outlier from the other scheduled content e.g. 10000px x 8000px.

For Temporary Operation

  • Remove content causing the player to crash.
