Display Studio has a status indicator that checks for the components within a Daktronics Control System. It is located at the bottom left of Display Studio, the status light can be 1 of 3 colors:

  • Green - All systems working as expected
  • Yellow - Minor Error and content will most likely still be playable
  • Red - Major error and needs to be addressed as soon as possible. Most common causes and their solutions listed below.

Steps

DMP is not responding

  1. Ensure the DMP-8000 or DMP-7000 computers are powered on and the VNET or Venus 7000 software is running properly.
  2. Ensure there is proper network communication using a ping command.
    1. Start > Run > Cmd > ping(IP Address of the player)

Imaging service not responding

  1. Venus 7000 Shell > Diagnostics
  2. Locate V7CPPImagingService --> Start this service

No file servers detected. Please check the player configuration

  1. Venus 7000 Shell > Configure > File Servers Tab
  2. Ensure player computer name is correct
  3. Edit/Add server as needed

Duplicate ERTD Sign number on DMP-7000 computer

  1. Venus 7000 Shell > Configure > Signs
  2. Locate the sign with the conflicting number and double click that sign.
  3. Go into the advanced tab and choose a number between 1 and 99 that does not conflict with other existing sign numbers
  4. Click Ok and then click Yes to all prompts to restart V7SS services

Cannot Merge Changes (Appears in systems with more than 1 Show Control Computer)

  1. Close out of display on both the client and server machines
  2. Open the Client Sync Server Utility found at Start > All Programs > Daktronics > Utilities
  3. Click mirror server to backup and then close the sync utility
  4. Re-open display studio
