Steps

It is recommended to regularly clean audio control equipment to keep it functioning properly and prolonging its life.

Recommended tools include:

  • A good quality soft bristle paint brush, cheaper ones tend to lose bristles that get stuck in equipment
  • Canned air duster
  • Soft cloth
  1. Start by taking the canned air and blowing out any recessed spaces such as air vents, and fader tracks
  2. Take the paint brush and brush off any hard to reach places, for example between knobs, faders, and other tight spots
  3. Follow up with the soft cloth.
    1. Optionally use a solution of water and a mild detergent to lightly dampen the cloth to remove any debris that dry dusting doesn't remove.  It is important to use a slightly damp, not wet, cloth to prevent damage to the equipment.
