Steps

Update Procedure

  1. Locate computer(s) where DCGI will be installed/updated.
    1. DCGI will have its own dedicated computer - DCGI-P
  2. Close down any open DCGI applications.
  3. Click on the installer: Dakfiles | Sports Products | DCGI
  4. Follow the onscreen instructions to install/update DCGI.
  5. Repeat the above steps on the Backup DCGI (if available). 
  6. Go to Start > All Programs > Daktronics > DCGI to open.
  7. License the DCGI (yearly renewal).
    1. When the application is first opened, users are prompted to obtain a new software license.
    2. Find the serial number near the top of the registration window.
      1. Contact technical support and provide the serial number. 
      2. They will verify the license billing/entitlements and send you an unlock code. 
      3. When the license file is received, save it to a location that is easy to remember, such as "My Documents" or the "Desktop".
      4. Click Load License, and then locate and open the license file.
      5. Click Continue to begin using the DCGI application.
  8. Confirm new version.  See the Help menu> About for current version of the software.

Backup Procedure

  1. Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Daktronics\DCGI on Windows 7, C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Daktronics\DCGI
    • Grab the DCGI_Ports.xml file for submittal.
    • Double Click on the relevant sports folder. (ex. DakStatsBaseball for MLB or FootballStatCrew for College Football facilities)
      • Grab all folders labeled Output-Chyron (#) for submittal
      • Grab the OTFStyles.xml file for submittal. 
  2. Repeat this process for all sports folders. 
  3. Grab all files in a folder for submittal/ external backup.
  4. Save a local copy to C:\Tools.
