My SportApp output is not visible on the TriCaster

Environment

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Ping the device to verify the TriCaster and the Live Book are on the same network.
    • Get the ip address of the TriCaster.
    • On the Live Book,  go to the start menu and type cmd. Click on the command prompt icon.
    • Type ping followed by the ip address of the TriCaster and press enter.
      • Example: Ping 10.0.0.0.1
    • It should come back with reply followed by the ip address.
  2. Live Book isn’t available on the TriCasters net source drop down.
    • Ping to check the network.
  3. Systems are on same network but the Live Book isn’t visible
    • Exit the TriCaster production and restart the TriCaster production. This will reinitiate the TriCaster’s search for video sources on the network
  4. Live Book shows black on the TriCaster.
    • If the Live Book is selectable on the TriCaster net source drop down, but shows black on the TriCaster video monitor check the firewall on the Live Book, it must be off for video to flow
    • If the firewall in windows is enabled the scorebug will not show on the TriCaster.
    • Go to the start menu and type firewall.
      • Click on check firewall status.
      • If it’s on click change notification settings.
      • Turn the firewall off for each network setting.
      • Press ok to exit.
    • Restart the SportApp and press the update button. The scorebug should be visible in the preview window of the TriCaster.
  5. Use the video monitor to see if the scorebug is visible
    • Go to the start menu and look for the folder labeled NewTek NDI redist
    • Click on video monitor

    • Right click within the video monitor and choose the Live Book output 1 option.

    • If the scorebug is visible, then it’s being sent over the network via NDI.

    • At the bottom of the SportApp the program output should say “NDI Active” in green.
