  • Incorrect formatting and media types are being used

  • The following information was taken out of the DN-300Z user manual

 

  • For CDS
    • Commercial audio CDs and CD-R discs that have been burned as audio discs and finalized can be played
    • MP3 CDs can also be played with the following limitations:
      • Up to 300 folders and up to 8 folder levels can be read, including the root directory.
      • Up to 300 audio files can be put on the disc, any more and files may not play or appear correctly.
      • File and folder names can use up to 255 characters, uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols can be used. Japanese file names will not be shown.
      • Copyright-protected audio files might not play properly or may appear as Unknown File
      • The following data is compatible:
        • ID3 tags: Version 1.x and 2.x (these contain audio file information such as name and track)
        • Bit rate: 32kbps to 320kbps.  320 (not up converted) is always recommended for best quality, the higher the better
        • Format: MPEG1 Audio Layer 3 also known as MP3
        • Sample Rate: 44.1 kHz
        • File extension: .mp3
  • For USB and SD cards
    • Note, the DN-300Z does not charge any USB devices and does not support USB  hubs, extension cables or external SD card readers
    • Use USB devices that are mass storage class or compatible with MTP
    • For SD cards, a maximum capacity of 32GB is supported
    • Only FAT16 or FAT32 file systems are supported
    • The following limitations on files and folders are
      • Up to 999 folders and 8 folder levels including the root directory are supported
      • Up to 999 audio files are supported, if the USB or SD card has more than 1000 files, some may not play or appear correctly
      • File and folder names can use up to 255 characters, uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols can be used. Japanese file names will not be shown.
      • Copyright-protected files might not play properly or may appear as Unknown File
    • The following data is compatible:
      • ID3 tags: Version 1.x and 2.x (these contain audio file information such as name and track)
      • AAC-Tags: compatible with title, artist, and album names
      • For MP3 Files:
        • Sample rate: 44.1 kHz
        • Bit rate: 32kbps to 320kbps. 320 (not up converted) is always recommended for best quality, the higher the better
        • Format: MPEG1 Audio Layer 3 also known as MP3
        • File extension: .mp3
      • For AAC Files:
        • Sample rate: 44.1 kHz
        • Bit rate: 32kbps to 320 kbps. 320 (not up converted) is always recommended for best quality, the higher the better
        • Format: Advanced Audio Codec
        • File extension: .m4a
      • For WAV Files:
        • Sample rate: 44.1 kHz
        • Bit rate: 16 bit
        • Format: Linear PCM
        • File Extension: .wav
