How to configure a VFC controller

Steps

System Configuration

  1. Go to Add/Remove Signs
  2. Enter the desired number of signs and press enter
  3. Login to Sign 1
  4. Go to Configuration
  5. Go to System
  6. Go to Required
  7. Enter the Module, Type, Height, Width, Access, Display Interface, and Pitch Information.
  8. Repeat steps 4-7 for any additional displays.

Peripheral Configuration

  1. Login to Sign 1
  2. Go to Configuration
  3. Go to Peripheral
  4. Go to Add
  5. Go to Guided Setup
  6. Follow the on-screen prompts for the display being configured.
  7. Repeat steps 2-6 for any additional signs.  (Note: if a peripheral is reporting directly to the VFC, it will only need to be added to Sign 1)

Communication Configuration

  1.  Default is set to Dynamic. If you choose to change to a Static IP address go onto step 2.
  2. Login to Sign 1
  3. Go to Configuration
  4. Go to Communication
  5. Go to Ethernet
  6. Go to IP
  7. Go to Static
  8. Enter IP Address, then press ENTER.
  9. Enter Subnet Mask, then press ENTER.
  10. Enter Gateway, then press ENTER.
  11. Select Static for DNS. Press Enter through all DNS information if it is not know or used. 0 will be entered for all information.
  12. Wait for the changes to be made, and then press enter.
  13. Select Status to verify new IP address.
