No serial or Ethernet connectivity to ST-2016
Potential Symptoms
- ST-2016 will not communicate to the computer with serial or Ethernet. IP addresses of the computer and the display are within range, and the display boots up fine.
Environment
- ST-2016 (scorers table)
Cause
- RS-232 and Ethernet connections inside the Controller box are wired to the wrong ports on the controller.
Resolution
- Open controller box up and change the wiring configuration so RS-232 and Ethernet are going to the correct jacks on the controller.
- Correct locations:
- RS-232 Jack is located on the bottom left edge of the controller. Directly below the memory card and is the jack nearest to input power jack on the enclosure.
- Ethernet Jack is located on the right side of the controller on the same riser card the fiber output is connected to. The jack is labeled RJ-45 and is opposite of the fiber output jack on the enclosure.
