VP-6000: How do I load configuration via command lines
Topic
- How do I load a pre-made configuration onto a VP-6000 via command lines?
Environment
- Product Family: Software and Controllers
- Product: 6000 Series Processors
- Component: PuTTy, Command Lines
- Control System:
Steps
1. Use WinSCP to copy Design Engineering pre-made configuration or site backup configuration folder into /tmp folder in desired VP-6000
- NOTE: The folder you will need to file transfer to /tmp will be the four digit number folder, ex. 0001, 0002, 0003, 0004, etc., found at either:
- DD#######\vp6000\ transfer the 0001, 0002, 0003, 0004, etc. based on the desired VP #
- DD#######\Site Backup\yyyy-mm-dd\vp6000\ transfer the 0001, 0002, 0003, 0004, etc. based on the desired VP #
- NOTE: Each numbered folder corresponds to a single VP and contains all configuration data for that VP (inputs, outputs, vidprocs, etc.)
Note: To log in with WinSCP reference How to log into DI-6000 or VP-6000 using WinSCP, DD3287018.
Note: Load only unzipped #### folder to this location, do not load zipped files.
2. Close WinSCP and log in to the VP-6000 using PuTTY. Reference How to log into DI-6000 or VP-6000 using PuTTY, DD3282244 on procedure to log in.
3. If any existing config is already on the unit, it may be necessary to remove that config first by copying and pasting all (ALL) of the following commands one-by-one:
-
sudo rm -Rv /etc/kadoka/config/inputs
-
sudo rm -Rv /etc/kadoka/config/outputs
-
sudo rm -Rv /etc/kadoka/config/vpctld
4. Copy the configuration folder from /tmp to /etc/kadoka/ by copying and pasting one (1) of the following command options:
-
- Example Format: sudo -u kadoka cp -iRv /tmp/(name of folder transferred)/* /etc/kadoka/
-
sudo -u kadoka cp -iRv /tmp/0001/* /etc/kadoka/
-
sudo -u kadoka cp -iRv /tmp/0002/* /etc/kadoka/
-
sudo -u kadoka cp -iRv /tmp/0003/* /etc/kadoka/
-
sudo -u kadoka cp -iRv /tmp/0004/* /etc/kadoka/
-
sudo -u kadoka cp -iRv /tmp/0005/* /etc/kadoka/
-
sudo -u kadoka cp -iRv /tmp/0006/* /etc/kadoka/
-
sudo -u kadoka cp -iRv /tmp/0007/* /etc/kadoka/
-
sudo -u kadoka cp -iRv /tmp/0008/* /etc/kadoka/
-
sudo -u kadoka cp -iRv /tmp/0009/* /etc/kadoka/
-
sudo -u kadoka cp -iRv /tmp/0010/* /etc/kadoka/
-
sudo -u kadoka cp -iRv /tmp/0011/* /etc/kadoka/
-
sudo -u kadoka cp -iRv /tmp/0012/* /etc/kadoka/
- Etc if VP # or DI # is larger than above
5. If an existing configuration is present you will be asked if you want to overwrite each file, type y for yes or n for no.
6. Make script file executable by copying and pasting the following command:
-
sudo -u kadoka chmod -v a+x /etc/kadoka/post-misc.sh
7. For edited changes to take effect, restart the device by typing or copying and pasting the following command:
-
sudo reboot
