Display Studio How do I create a set dimming script for my Daktronics Show Control System

Topic

To manually adjust dimming during an event, it is recommended to create a scripting button with a Set Dimming script to set a display's dimming mode so that its brightness is appropriately adjusted for ambient light conditions.

Steps

6000 Processor or VIP-5x60

DMP-8000 with VIP-4060:

  1. Choose System Control Script.
  2. Select Advanced System Script.
  3. Choose Set Dimming.
  4. Set the Custom ERTD.
    1.  Enter the Port # which is configured for the VIP-4060, usually 27000.
    2. Enter the Sign Number for the VIP-4060.

For DMP-7000 Displays:

  1. Choose DMP-7000 Display Control Script.
  2. Select the Sign(s) on which you want the dimming mode to be set.
  3. Place a checkmark in the checkbox(es) of the appropriate sign(s).
  4. Choose Set Dimming.
  5. Set Dimming settings as follows:

Select the radio button for Manual mode, and use the slider bar to set a value from 0 (full dimming, for low ambient light conditions) to 255 (no dimming, for high ambient light conditions).

In the Set Dimming settings step, select the radio button for Manual dimming mode, and use the slider bar to set a value from 0 (full dimming, for low ambient light conditions) to 255 (no dimming, for high ambient light conditions).
