How to disable or enable door switches on a VLink or VIP controller

Potential Symptoms

  • Video Display playing grey.
  • Not able to play 8000 content.
  • Disable and enable a remote enclosure door switches.

Resolution

Door switches serve as a security measure and should only be disabled if a tech is going to be spending a large amount of time working in the remote enclosure or if able to verify that they are malfunctioning.  Daktronics will not disable door switches without first obtaining approval from the customer.

VLink 1500/ValoPlay

Disabling a door switch

  1. Connect to controller using VLink 1500 Management Studio.
  2. Navigate to communications folder.
  3. Click on security.
  4. Uncheck the box next to "Enable door switch".
  5. Click the blue down arrow to set configuration.

Enabling a Door Switch

  1. Connect to VLink using VLink 1500 Management Studio.
  2. Navigate to communications folder.
  3. Click on security.
  4. Check the box next to "Enable door switch".
  5. Click the blue down arrow to set configuration.

Disabling a Door Switch

  1. Connect to VIP using UX web interface.
  2. Go to the Configuration heading and then the Peripherals tab.
  3. Highlight Door switch 1 and then click the red X to remove it.
  4. Click the page pointing to the right icon to set configuration.

Enabling a Door Switch

  1. Connect to VIP using UX web interface.
  2. Go to the Configuration heading and then the Peripherals tab.
  3. Click the green + sign and choose Door switch from the drop down.
  4. Once populated ensure that it uses address 1 and type is direct.
  5. Click the page pointing to the right icon to set configuration.

Disabling a Door Switch

  1. Connect to VIP using UX web interface.
  2. Go to the Configuration heading and then the Peripherals tab.
  3. Highlight Door switch 2 and then click the red X to remove it.
    • If Display is not a billboard, all door switches can be removed.
  4. Click the page pointing to the right icon to set configuration.

Enabling a Door Switch

  1. Connect to the VIP using the UX web interface.
  2. Go the Configuration heading and then Peripherals tab.
  3. Click the Green + sign and choose Door Switch from the drop down.
  4. Once populated ensure that is uses address 2.
  5. Click the page pointing to the right icon to set configuration.
