Show Control System: M3 File manager widget missing in Display Studio, getting No Response in Service Configuration

Potential Symptoms

  • The M3 File manager widget is missing in Show Control Display Studio.
  •  User may be able to detect and communicate with display in Venus 1500 V4 but when trying to find display in Display Studio get a no service message.
  • Able to ping the display IP address from control computer and able to connect to display controller via M2config.
  • In Service configuration when testing service to IP address of the sign, getting "No Response".

Cause

  • M3 File manager widget is not showing in the bottom of Display Studio.

Resolution

Check to make sure the M3 plug-in is installed.
  1. Click the Application Menu (top left) -> About.
  2. Under Loaded Plugins check for Venus1500 M3 Protocol Plugin.
If the Venus1500 M3 Protocol Plugin is installed, verify that a Workspace has been created or opened. 
  1. Click Application Menu -> New -> Workspace, provide a Name for the workspace or click Application Menu -> Open -> Workspace Name. 
  2. Once a Workspace is loaded the M3 File Manager should appear.

If the Venus1500 M3 Protocol Plugin is not installed you will need to Modify the install.
  1. Go to Windows Start Menu, Control Panel and click Add/Remove Programs or Programs and Features and click Change.
  2. Choose Modify. 
  3. When asked to choose plug-ins, select the M3 File manager plug-in to be installed on the local hard drive. 
  4. Continue and finish install.
