'Nucleus Database' cannot be opened, marked SUSPECT by recovery; Database marked SUSPECT

Potential Symptoms

  • Received error - Database 'Nucleus Database' cannot be opened. It has been marked SUSPECT by recovery. See the SQL server error log for more details.
  • Received error - Database 'Nucleus Log' cannot be opened. It has been marked SUSPECT by recovery. See the SQL server error log for more details. BACKUP DATABASE is terminating abnormally.

  • Received error when running repair on Venus - Error opening installation log file. Verify that the specified log file location exists and that you can write to it.

Cause

  • Database had been put into SUSPECT mode, unsure of actual cause. Possible power outage and incorrect shutdown of computer.

Resolution

  1. Download Nucleus Database Diagnostics: https://dakfiles.daktronics.com/downloads/Venus1500/utils/
  2. Click Nucleus Database Diagnostics.zip file.
  3. Click Save As and save file to computer desktop.
  4. Open Zip folder and click-drag-drop files to desktop.
  5. Double-click and run Nucleus_Database_Diagnostics.exe.
  6. After status is loaded click Repair next to the Nucleus Database and/or Nucleus Log.
  7. Start Nucleus service.
  8. Start Venus 1500.
